OUR SERVICES
Individual, Family & Group Therapy
Counseling for mental health and emotional issues is offered by mental health professionals and licensed certified
social workers to the general public. The services are offered on a fee for service basis through private pay and/or
pre-approved third party reimbursement. Services is also offered on a sliding fee scale and through Medicare and
Medicaid at the Innis Rural Health Clinic in Innis, Louisiana and the BACH Clinic in New Roads, Louisiana.
Employee Assistance Program
This program offers a package that includes management consultation, supervisor training, mental health counseling for
employees and employee family members, critical incident stress debriefing, and wellness programs to contracting
organizations. Services are provided on a contract basis with employer and employing organizations.
Victims of Crime
Services for children up to 18 years of age who have been victims of crime, or witnessed a crime or domestic violence,
are provided without cost to the clients through grants administered through the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff Department.
Services include assessments, evaluations, crisis and mental health counseling, referrals, case-management, advocacy
and awareness.
Victims of Domestic Violence
Services for women who are victims of domestic violence are provided without cost to the clients through grants
administered through the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff Department. Services include assessments, evaluations, crisis
and mental health counseling, referrals, case-management, advocacy and
awareness.
Family Strengthening Program
Services for juveniles at risk are provided without cost to clients and their families through grants administered
through the Pointe Coupee Sheriff Department. Youth at risk include those who are or have not been: abused, neglected,
school drop-outs, expelled or suspended from school, are in some sort for after care treatment program, a member of a
high risk family, status offenders, on probation, delinquent, or court diverted. Services include assessments,
evaluation and skills training for anger management, assertiveness and improved communication, and conflict resolution.
Educational and Instructional Training
Professional staff members contract with agencies and organizations to design and present customized educational and
instructional trainings.
Innis Health Clinic
New Beginnings contracts with the Innis Health Clinic to provide mental health services in that area. Services provided
include individual, family, and group therapy and victim services. New Beginnings staff are available at the clinic
two days per week. Innis Health Clinic accepts Medicare/Medicaid, insurance, and has a sliding scale for payment of
services.
Better Access Community Health (BACH) Clinic
New Beginnings contracts with the Better Access Community Health Clinic to provide mental health services in that area.
Services provided include individual, family, and group therapy, victim services, mental health and substance abuse
evaluations, advocacy and referrals. New Beginnings staff are available at the clinic two days per week. Better Access
Community Health Clinic accepts Medicare/Medicaid, insured and uninsured, and has a sliding scale for payment of
services.
ADHD Evaluations
New Beginnings provides Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder evaluations. Services include: interview, assessment,
evaluations, report writing, and recommendations. All documents are given to the client's primary physician for
medication management.
24 Hour Crisis Line
New Beginnings licensed and certified Social Workers are on call for crisis situations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Project BOOST
The project’s focus is to enhance student’s emotional intelligence through building character skills, such as, respect,
tolerance, self-esteem, and cooperation. This project has two components: 1) character education skills are taught in
the classroom 2) reiterated through movement and play activities. The goal of the program is to decrease discipline
problems, increase school attendance, and test scores by creating a positive self-image for the children. Collaboration
among administration, teachers, and parents will have a vital role in the success in this program.
